Elden Campbell just spent $500,000 to get on a team that can win the NBA finals. That is the kind of guy I'd want on my team!
I read the articles all on my lunch break. It is nice to get Elden back and to the previous commentor, I would gladly take him on, cap issue or not. That is a non-issue and yes, I agree, any guy that actually pays any money to join a team is worth the risk, period. Kind of made me think of that Rosenberg article you linked to on Guillen and all the things he gave up to remain a Tiger.
Yes! Guillen did make sort of the same sacrifice. He was worth $10-12 million per year on paper, but took 1/2 that to stay put. I admire anyone who does that. I also admire Dombrowski for seeing this as an issue and getting him signed during the season.
